Department of Church Life and Nurture

The Director of Church Life and Nurture shall:

a) be responsible to the Clerk of the Presbytery.

b) coordinate the work of the Committees under his Department and submit regular reports to the Presbytery Council.

c) serve on other Committees or bodies of the Church as may be prescribed.

(d) on the basis of the recommendations of the appropriate Committees,

(i) commission graded suitable study material to be prepared for ministry to children, youth, young adults, adults and the aged.

(ii) organize retreats, seminars, workshops, and training courses for the leaders of the generational groups in the Presbyteries.

(iii) facilitate lay training in the Church.

(iv) advise the Presbytery on how to remedy factors in the socio-cultural life of the country that endanger and hinder the proper status and welfare of women and children.

(v) promote the work of the generational groups as instruments of the Church for ministry among children.

(vi) formulate guidelines to encourage the functioning of Church choirs, singing bands, and other recognized musical groups in the worship life of the Church.

(vii) arrange the pericope and almanac of the Church.

(viii) advise and keep under review the liturgy for various services in English and the local languages.

(e) perform any other functions that may be assigned by the Clerk of the Presbytery from time to time.
